Mole Reduction
Moles range in colour, from matching your skin tone, to brown, black or even pink. Many adults have anywhere from 10-40 moles on their body, all of which are benign, however some can become itchy, bleed, change size, shape or colour, which can feel worrying when the cause is unknown.
Before going ahead with mole reduction, we first ask you to come in for a consultation to check that your moles are non-cancerous and the procedure is safe to conduct. This is called mole mapping.

Once results are back from the dermatologist and all is clear, we can go ahead. If however it confirms abnormalities with the mole, we refer you to an expert and will not go ahead with the mole reduction procedure.

Our blemish removal services include mole reduction, milia removal and skin tag removal, amongst many more, using advanced electrolysis. This is a safe treatment that may not completely remove your mole, but reduce it, making it less visible.

What is Mole Mapping?
Mole mapping is a diagnostic procedure which helps dermatologists and skin specialists with the early detection of abnormal moles, expediting the process towards diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

During the mole mapping procedure, images of moles or skin lesions will be taken using a medical-grade camera called a ‘dermoscope.’ A detailed image is captured using light and magnification, which allows a consultant dermatologist to check for abnormalities that might not be visible to the naked eye. This is a safe and non-invasive test, which will be conducted at your initial consultation.

Mole mapping helps to identify moles that are showing abnormalities and need further investigation. Sometimes changes are not visible to the naked eye, which is why we recommend having this test done.

We must clarify that using Map My Mole’s mole mapping solution we cannot diagnose skin cancer, as a proper diagnosis requires a biopsy and blood test.
